Abstract

424,059. Road-vehicle spring suspensions. TAYLOR, A. E., Garrymohr, Levencorrach, Isle of Arran. Aug. 8, 1933, No. 22199. [Class 108 (ii)] The spring suspension of a road vehicle which is preferably also adapted to float as a boat comprises two sets at each side of three tandem wheels devoid of connecting axles. The centre wheel 14 carries a longitudinal bearer beam 16 provided at its ends with casings 18 for axle bearer blocks 19 between which and main spring bearer blocks 20 mounted on the beam 16 are arranged springs 20<a>. Main springs 22 are disposed as shown between the blocks 20 and the frame 1 of the vehicle by casings 21. The bearer beam 16 also is provided with a socket 23 between which and a similar socket 26 on the frame a pneumatic tyred wheel 28 serves as a spring. The wheel casings are also provided with blocks 36 guided in guideways 37 secured to the frame 1, springs 38, 39 and rubber blocks 41 being arranged as shown. Specification 424,058 is referred to.
