Abstract
420,392. Electric hot-plates. RHEINISCH-WESTFALISCHES ELEKTRIZITATSWERK AKT.-GES., 38, Mõrkischestrasse,Essen, Germany. July 19, 1933, No. 20425. Conven tion date, June 17. [Class 39 (iii)] Electric heating resistances, used for apparatus such as hot plates and provided with seriesparallel switch control means, are also provided with means for connecting the entire apparatus to different voltages of a supply system having several conductors. For instance two resistances a and b provided with a series - parallel switch c are also provided with a switch k which connects the apparatus either between the outer conductors R and S or between the outer R and the neutral conductor O of a multi-wire system. The switches c and k may be combined in one construction. The apparatus may alternatively be provided with a switch which can be operated to place the resistances a and b in parallel across the conductors R and S irrespective of the position of switch c. Thermostatic means are provided to switch the apparatus over to the lower voltage when a definite temperature is attained.
