Abstract
770,432. Regulating switches. ISOPAD Ltd., and REIK, H. Dec. 3, 1953 [April 13, 1953], No. 10034/53. Class 38(5) [Also in Group XI] A regulating switch connects the heating elements 2, 3 of an electric hot-plate (see Group XI) in series or parallel or the energisation of only element 2. The sup- ply conductors 10, 11 are joined by flexible leads 21, 22 to contacts 18, 19 which rotate together as a unit about a pivot 20. The outer end of the element 2 is permanently connected by a conductor 15 to the supply conductor 10. In the position shown, contact 19 on the movable arms engages a contact 16 connected to the outer end of the element 3 whereby the elements 2, 3 are energized on series. On moving the arms together clockwise through one step, contact 19 engages a contact 17 connected to the junction of the elements 2, 3 so that element 2 only is energized. On rotating the contacts 18, 19 together a further step clockwise contact 18 engages contact 16 and contact 19 still engages contact 17 whereby the elements are connected in parallel.
