Abstract
420,323. Combination seats and tables. WELLS, E. G., and HOKANSON, A. E., c/o X Chair Patents Co., Ltd., Hayes, Middlesex. Aug. 11, 1933, No. 22479. [Class 52 (iii)] An adjustable deck-chair of the type comprising an X-frame and an adjustable strut 13, is provided with a table or shelf 15, and with means, such as a linkage, whereby the table is automatically maintained in a substantially horizontal position in any position of adjustment of the chair. The table comprises a tray 15 pivotally connected to the frame member 11, by means of a pivoted hook 20 engaged with a plate 21 on the member 11, and is also connected to the strut member 13 by a pivoted link 16. A strengthening bar 22 under the tray bears against the member 11.
