Abstract
419,449. Transformers. NICHOLS, J. T., 542, Kingsland Road, Hackney, London. May 2, 1933, No. 12695. [Class 38 (ii).] A core for a transformer or choke is constructed of a plurality of H-form laminations a which are inserted singly with one end of one of the end bars leading through slots b<2> in insulating end cheeks b. The length of the end bars may be equal to the height of the end cheeks b and in the completed construction the rectangular holes b<1> in the end cheeks are completely filled by the laminations a. The magnetic circuit may be completed by strips a<1> secured to the central core by bolts carried on clamps. The winding or windings are insulated from the core by insulating tape and if two windings are wound side by side on the core they may be separated by a third insulating cheek.
