419,273. Covers for resisting fluid pressure. MORDEN HOME EQUIPMENT (LONDON), Ltd., and LOWE, K. M. W., 20, Holborn, London. July 4, 1934, No. 19711. Convention date, July 26, 1933. [Class 123 (i).] A pressure-cooker 1 is provided with an inturned flange 3, the inner edge of which is defined by curves 4, 5 so shaped that an oval lid 8 can be inserted and then rotated to its sealing position against the underside of the flange 3. The upper side of the lid is provided with dissimilar projections 6A, 7A, which fit into corresponding steps 6, 7 in the rim of the flange 3, so that the cover must always be placed in the same relative position and the gasket above the cover remains tight for a long period. When there is no internal pressure, the cover is held by a crossbar 12 and nut 11, and the cover is also provided with a pressure relief valve and whistle 13 and a fusible plug 15.
