Abstract
417,689. Bolts. APPLEBY, Ltd., J., and APPLEBY, N. C., Tower Road, Aston, Birming- ham. July 12, 1933, No. 19730. [Class 89 (i).] A clamping screw for use in tennis racket presses and other clamping devices comprises a screwed stem a and integral shoulder b, a washer g slidable on the stem being forced by a spring f against a pivotal finger piece e to hold the latter in either of the positions shown in Figs. 1 and 5, respectively. The pivotal pieces d of the finger e which engage in a hole c in the stem a, may be replaced by a single pivot piece extending across the gap h in the finger piece, in which case the end of the stem a is split to allow of insertion of the pivot in the hole c. The stem engages with a nut j formed of a thin tube and provided with indentations o for engagement with the thread of the stem.
