Abstract
416,401. Vanity cases. KURLASH CO., Inc., TUTTLE, W. R., and STICKEL, C. W., 77, South Avenue, Rochester, New York, U.S.A. May 1, 1934, No. 13079. [Class 18.] A vanity case is provided with a false bottom 4, a housing 20 for the head 21 of a brush, and a yieldable guide 22 which urges the handle 10 of the brush into a raised position to facilitate withdrawal thereof. The guide 22 is provided with ears 23 and is secured to the plate 4 by means of an extension 26 which passes through the underside of the plate, and the housing 20 is secured to the plate by tongues 27. The plate 4 is formed with apertures in which are seated a container 7 for a sponge and a pan 5 for a cake of cosmetic. A top plate to the container 7 is formed with a diagonal slot to afford access to the sponge, and the container can be ejected from its aperture in the plate 4 by pressing on a lever 12 which is pivoted in a slot in the plate and whose lower end is seated under the container. The hinged lid 1 of the case has a mirror 3 on its underside and as soon as the lid is lifted, the handle of the brush springs up.
