Abstract

415,379. Mixing-machines. HARRISON, N., 18, Killowen Street, Low Fell, Co. Durham. Jan. 21, 1933, No. 2045. [Class 86.] In a mixing-machine for concrete and other granular materials a number of stirrers are provided, each comprising wide blades on radial arms, and the stirrers are rotated in opposite directions, one to another, in a rotary pan. By these means piling of the material either at the centre or edge of the pan is avoided. In the form shown, four stirrers are provided, the stirrers B, D rotating with the pan A, while C and E rotate in the opposite direction. In each stirrer one of the blades may be replaced by a roller, or a roller may be mounted on a pivoted trailing bracket near the edge of the pan ; the bracket may be mounted so that the roller pushes into the material instead of being trailed.
