Abstract

414,223. Racks; brackets. SANDALL, E. J., 52, Church Road, Wavertree, Liverpool. Dec. 12, 1933, No. 22119. [Class 52 (v).] An adjustable rack for the storage of articles such as wood mouldings, rods, tubes &c. is built up of bars 2, 8 of H- or T-section connected by clamps 6, 11 of dovetail channel section, the flanges of the bars being of less width than the internal width of the channel and clamped by set screws 9, 12 passing through a side of the channel to engage the edge of the flange. The sockets 6 have dovetailed grooves on opposite sides at right angles to one another and one groove engages a vertical bar 2 of H-section secured by set screws 5 in short channel sockets 3 mounted on the wall 1 and is clamped by a set screw 7. The other groove engages a horizontal bar 8 of H-section and is clamped by a set screw 9. Arms 10 are mounted on the bars 8 by dovetail clamps 11 locked by wing nuts 12. The arms 10 have telescopic extensions 13 locked by nuts 14 and carrying sockets 15 to receive vertical rods 16 secured by set screws. Eyelets 18 on the extensions 13 permit light chains to be passed over the front of the rack. Key pieces 25 may be interposed between the edge of the flange and the side of the socket. The rack may be mounted on wagons or lorries.
