Abstract

412,453. Pipe tees. CORNELL, E. S., 21, Orsini Drive, Larchmont, New York, U.S.A. Sept. 16, 1933, No. 25692. [Class 99 (i).] A pipe tee is formed from a flat metal blank having a central tubular projection 11. The blank has opposite turned-up edges 12, and is shaped round a mandrel to cylindrical form with the edges 12 adjacent one another. A strip or rod 16 of soft metal is placed between the outwardly bent edges 12 and enclosed by a channel-section strip 14 preferably of the same material as the tee. The seam is then compressed as shown in Fig. 10 by dies 17, 18.
