Abstract
410,428. Metal drums &c. PILKING- TON, L. G., and FRANCIS & SONS, Ltd., F., Thames Ironworks, John Penn Street, Lewisham, London. Dec. 4, 1933, No. 33997. [Class 21.] A sheet-metal drum, keg, &c., e.g. for oil is formed with an outwardly projecting flange a<1> defining an orifice, the upper edge a<2> being turned over outwardly, a screwed socket b being driven into the orifice with a packing-ring c interposed to form a seating b<2> for a packing-ring d carried by a flanged plug e<1> adapted to screw into the socket. A flange b<1> of the socket b may be prevented from rotating by spot welding at say three points. A thin metal cap f may be beaded over the top a<2>.
