Void [Abridged as open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Sept. 26, 1932]. [Class 135.] Valves for controlling the supply of actuating fluid to such apparatus as diaphragm or servo-motor machines, are designed to minimize loss of fluid when the valve closes. A ball or other lift valve 21 controlling the passage from an inlet 17 to an outlet 18 is adapted to be opened by a hollow rod 22 which normally rests on a shoulder 13 on the casing 10. When the rod is raised on the impact of a tappet 29, the duct p is closed by the ball at the same time as the ball allows fluid to pass, by way of an annular space 25, to the outlet. Fluid in the duct p passes out by way of openings 26.
