401,968. Grinding-machines. GENKINGER, T., (trading as GENKINGER MASCHINENFABRIK NURTINGEN, T.), N³rtingen, W³rtemberg, Germany. April 18, 1933, No. 11358. Convention date, April 18, 1932. [Class 60.] A gear-driven hand grinding-machine has a driving disc so shaped as to form a cover for the housing of the machine, and may be provided with a peripheral surface or groove for mechanical drive by a belt or cord. The machine comprises a frame a adapted to be secured to a table by supports c and a screw b and formed into a housing d, having a central bearing e, and a bearing f for the spindle g of the grinding-wheel h. The spindle has formed thereon teeth g<1>, engaged by internal teeth k, Fig. 2, or external teeth k<1>, Fig. 4, provided on a portion of a driving-member i which closes the housing and has thereon a fixed or removable crank-handle m ; a central spindle o, fitted in the bearing e ensures exact meshing of the gear teeth. The member i may have on its periphery a groove n<1>, Fig. 4, for a cord drive, or a surface to receive a belt, or a driving-pulley may be fitted on the spindle o.
