Convention date, Feb. 1. [Class 135.] A screw-down lift valve D is associated with a subsidiarv valve H of semi-spherical shape disposed on the inlet side of the valve seating, there being an attached guide spindle K fitting loosely in a central bore of the main valve stem D<1>. The subsidiary valve is adapted to close the seat opening when the upper valve is removed for repairs. An upright pillar type of cock with the subsidiary valve fitting is also shown.
