Abstract

322,147. Reading, A. W. March 23, 1929. Closure members, doublebeat lift.-A screw-down valve having a double closure comprises a washer D' disposed in the cupshaped moving valve member D and secured by an inturned flange rib, as shown, and a second washer B of annular form disposed in a recess A in the valve seating and secured by a screwed and flanged metal thimble C having an upstanding outwardly-turned flange rib C'. This arrangement ensures complete closure with but slight pressure. Specifications 10378/05, 5982/08, 10460/15, and 192,973 are referred to.
