Abstract
398,665. Type-making machines. YOUNG, W., 103, Sydney Road, Raynes Park, London. Oct. 27, 1932, No. 30176. [Class 100 (iii).] Metal-pots.-An electrically operated warning-device under the control of a float indicates the fall of the metal below a predetermined level, and also, if desired, its rise above another predetermined level. An aluminium float 2, Fig. 2, is carried by a rod 3, which slides through holes in the top and bottom of a casing 4, secured to a levelling-block 17 on the lid 1 of the pot. The rod carries a double spring contact-arm 5, secured to an insulated block 6, and adapted to bridge lower contacts 7 or upper contacts 9, as the float falls or rises. A circuit containing an electric bell 16, Fig 1, and a transformer 15, connected to the electric supply-mains, is thereby closed. The transformer may be replaced by a battery &c., and the bell by another audible, or by a visual, warning-device.
