Abstract
397,747. Workmen's food-cans. NIER, E. B., ADOLPH, 1. E., NIER, R. W., PROSS, M. H., and NIER, J. K., (trading as NIER, H.), Beierfeld, Saxony, Germany. Dec. 30, 1932, No. 36927. Convention date, Dec. 31, 1931. [Classes 66, 125 (i) and 125 (iii).] The sheet-metal cover 2 of a workman's food-carrier is formed with a V-shaped edge channel 4 seating a packing ring 3 the undersurface o which is engaged by the outwardly turned edge 5 of the body part 1. To the inner edge of the channel is attached a deep rim part 6 which fits within the upper part of the body and enables the cover to serve as a basin or cup into which part of the contents may be poured. A clamping member 9 engages under the edge 5 and has a threaded neck opening 21 in which a screw 10 terminating in a rotatable disc 15 bearing on the cover is inserted. The outer edge of the channel 4 is formed with recesses to facilitate access to the packing ring.
