Abstract
395,713. Piston-rings. BIRCH, G., 22, Meadow Bank Avenue, Sheffield. Jan. 19, 1932, No. 1622. [Class 122 (i).] In a ring of the kind comprising a split ring b housed in the recess of an L-shaped ring a, projections h on the ends of the ring b engage a groove g in the radial abutting face of the ring a whereby relative radial movement of the rings and consequent fouling of cylinder ports is eliminated. An axial projection e may be provided on the ring b to engage a slot c in the radial flange of the ring a and cover the gap d therein.
