Abstract
393,618. Automatic guns. DANUVIA IPARI S KERESKEDELMI RESZVENY TARSASAG, 11, K÷ver Lajos utca, Budapest. Dec. 7, 1931, No. 33932. Convention date, Dec. 22, 1930. [Classes 92 (ii) and 119.] A short-recoil gun of the kind in which the movements of the breech-block 3 are controlled by a lever 4 connected with the barrel 1 or barrel-extension 2, has a catch 5 for holding the breech-closing spring 10 in cocked position until the breech-block reaches its rearward position, when the catch is released. Fig. 1 shows the breech-block locked in closed position by a catch 7 released by an incline 31 on the breech casing. The breech-block, which is unseated from the barrel for extraction of the cartridge case by a lever on the barrel-extension engaging a fixed stop (not shown), is unrestrained during its rearward movement, but is pressed into closed position by the lever 4 bearing against its rear face. Fig. 6 shows a modification in which the lever 4 engages a slot in the breech-block, surfaces 11, 12 on the barrel-extension engaging pins 13, 14 on the lever during the opening and closing movements of the block, respectively. The surface 12 may be formed on a spring-controlled member 15 separate from the barrel-extension, as shown in Fig. 8. The lever 4 may have an extension 41, Fig. 10, engaging a fixed stop during the return of the barrel to rock the lever to close the breech. Specifications 1064/05, 7203/10, and 240,880, [all in Class 119, Smallarms], are referred to.
