Abstract

In the granulation of sodium nitrate by spraying a melt thereof, there is added to the melt between 1,5 and 12 per cent and preferably from 3-5 per cent of another nitrate such as magnesium, potassium, iron or ammonium nitrate or of another ammonium salt such as the sulphate. The crushing strength of the granules is thereby considerably increased and their capacity for being stored and scattered improved. Specification 315,262, [Class 1 (iii), Oxides &c., Metallic], is referred to.ALSO:In the granulation of sodium nitrate by spraying a melt thereof, there is added to the melt between 1,5 and 12 per cent and preferably from 3-5 per cent of another nitrate such as magnesium, postasium, iron, or ammonium nitrate or of another ammonium salt such as the sulphate. The crushing strength of the granules is thereby considerably increased and their capacity for being stored and scattered improved. Specification 315,262, [Class 1 (iii), Oxides &c., Metallic], is referred to.
