Abstract

<PICT:0391038/III/1> A method of atomization of liquid, more particularly for use in spray evaporation, comprises two stages, first an intimate mixture of liquid with air or other gas or vapour followed by the introduction of the mixture into an atomizer where it is beaten into a froth and finally issues through small orifices into a receptacle. The apparatus may comprise an ejector 1 by which the liquid is mixed with air or an inert gas from whence it passes to a centrifugal atomizer 4 having lateral outlets. The atomizer may be mounted to rotate on ball bearings and provided with reaction jets. The atomized liquid may be ejected into a reaction or evaporation chamber 6 through which gases may be circulated through ports 7, 8.
