Abstract
390,705. Frictional pocket-igniters. HOPF, A., 1, Obere Ispringerstrasse, Pforzheim, Germany. Aug. 16, 1932, No. 22964. [Class 75 (iii).] In an igniter in which a spring-pressed fuel container b is adapted to slide telescopically into a case a to bring a recess d, containing the friction-wheel f and wick, into register with an opening r, the frictionwheel is actuated by means of a rack h, pivoted at i in the bottom of the case and held by a spring k in engagement with a pinion g on the axle u of the wheel. A guideway l for the rack, widened towards its lower end, is provided in a side wall of the container. The wick-cap o is carried by a pivoted flap p to act as a stop for limiting the relative movement of the parts a, b, and can be swung outwardly through the opening r<1> to allow the parts to be separated. The friction-wheel is connected with the pinion g through a spring- pressed one-way clutch disc w, mounted on a square section u<1> of the axle u within a recess s in the wheel and provided with rising projections x co-operating with corresponding recesses v<1> in the wheel.
