(AREA)
Abstract
387,414. Artificial leather. GARTNER, E., 18, Auguste- Viktoria Allee, Reinickendorf, and RUCH, M., 7, Ansbacherstrasse, both in Berlin. Sept. 9, 1931, No. 25336. Convention date, Sept. 16, 1930. [Class 140.] Artificial leather is made by impregnating a fleece formed of fibres lying substantially in one direction or a number of superposed fleeces the fibres of which cross each other with rubber latex and then passing the material between pressure rollers. It is then dried and, if desired, vulcanized. The fibres are preferably spun fibres of artificial silk. To increase the extensibility of the material, the fibres may be corrugated, for instance by passage between grooved rolls. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 refers also to the use of-other binding agents, for example, cellulose derivatives. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
