Abstract
424,179. Building-plates. FIBROPLAST AKT.-GES., 7, Fronwagplatz, Schaffhausen, Switzerland, and WILKE, A., 10, Brockerhofstrasse, Krefeld, Germany. Oct. 3, 1934, No. 28325. [Class 87 (i)] Building-plates made from woody or other fibrous material admixed with an aqueous emulsion of bitumen or other waterproofing material, are washed with water during manufacture to remove the bitumen from the superficial fibres. By this means, the plates do not adhere to the machine which subsequently rolls or presses them, and the plates, when dried, afford a surface for plaster or oil colours. The plates may be made on a wire-cloth machine as in paper making, and both surfaces may be washed by water jets, the lower jets being applied through the wire cloth.
