Abstract

386,186. Magnetos. BOSCH AKT.- GES., R., 4, Militõrstrasse, Stuttgart, Germany. April 19, 1932; No. 11142. Convention date, April 20, 1931. [Class 35.] A magneto for lighting and ignition comprises a rotary ring magnet 1 provided at its ends and at the middle with pole shoes 5, 6, 20 co-operating with two arcuate armature cores 11, 12 carrying lighting windings, and on the other side of the magnet (i.e. the outside) there is a threepronged ignition armature 7 ; the pitch of the armature poles 13, 15 and 14, 16 facing each other is the same as the pitch of the magnet poles 5, 6, the lighting and ignition armature poles being circumferentially displaced as shown. The position of the two armature systems may be interchanged. The coils 17, 18 on the cores 11, 12 are oppositely wound and connected in series so that the voltages induced therein are in the same direction. The Specification explains the flux changes in the cores 11, 12 for one revolution of the magnet, and flux and voltage diagrams are given.
