Abstract
138,081. Bosch Akt.-Ges., R. Nov. 21, 1918, [Convention date]. Magneto-electric machines.-In the type of machine in which the magnet is formed by a rotating wheel and the stationary armature is within the wheel-rim, one or more armatures are arranged between the rim and the shaft and may be angularly displaced so as to produce sparks at any angular distance apart. The wheelrim m is constructed as a magnet with pole shoes N, S projecting inwards. The winding s comprises a primary and a secondary coil and is carried by the middle limb o of the armature a, the segment of a ring k forming a. yoke between its end limbs n, p. Fig. 3 shows two armatures a, a<1> displaced by an angle, whereby two ignition sparks at this angular distance apart are obtained in succession. Fig. 4 shows an auxiliary coil l comprising a primary and secondary winding in series with the main coil to assist the action of the latter, but so placed as to be unaffected by the field of the rotating magnet.
