Abstract

383,830. Rowing-apparatus. SAUERBIER, F., 4, Forsterstrasse, Berlin. Feb. 29, 1932, No. 6068. Convention date, Feb. 28, 1931. [Class 132 (i).] In rowing-apparatus of the type comprising a frame 1, Fig. 1, carrying a sliding seat 4, foot-rest 6, and outriggers 7, and mounted fore-and-aft on rockers 2, the length of the oars 10 is adjustable, the rockers have helical buffer springs 3 at their ends, and the resistance is provided by an adjustable spring. The oars 10 are formed of two parts, the part mounted on the pivot block being provided with a pin 10<1> on which the other part is adapted to turn. The length of the oar is adjusted by interposing distance sleeves 11 of different widths. The pivot block is a cylinder 9, Fig. 4, mounted in a fork at the outer end of the outrigger 7. A helical spring 12 is connected to two discs 13, one of which is secured to the oar and the other is adjustably connected to the cylinder by a stop pin 16. A through bolt 15 traverses both discs. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also a form of apparatus which stands rigidly on the ground. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
