Abstract

382,445. Pistons. LANGLOIS, V., 15, Rue Victor Duruy, Lille, France. Nov. 25, 1931, No. 32709. Convention date, Dec. 2, 1930. [Class 122 (i).] A piston comprises a head of aluminium alloy and a detachable, cast, cylindrical skirt. The skirt has segmental ribs 2 which engage grooves 1 in the gudgeon-pin bosses, and a cylindrical portion 6 which engages a cylindrical portion 5 of the head. The ribs 2 provide gaps so that the parts 5, 6 may be brought into register. The skirt is rotated to pass the ribs 2 into the grooves 1, and the parts are locked in position by the gudgeon-pin.
