Abstract
380,406. Vehicles with removable bodies. SIEGENER EISENBAHNBEDARF AKT.-GES., Siegen, Westphalia, Germany. May 25, 1932, No. 14881. Convention date, Oct. 28, 1931. [Class 103 (iv).] Containers and other objects are secured to railway trucks by means of projections of isosceles triangular form with the base horizontal and parallel to the longitudinal axis of the truck, the projections engaging corresponding sockets and the angle of inclination is such that upon sudden checks the projections and sockets ride up one another and return into complete engagement after the shock has been absorbed. As shown the projections b are in the form of plates secured to the container and engage sockets c the angle of inclination being represented by alpha. To prevent accidental withdrawal of the projections from the sockets links d engage hook-like bolts g on the container, vertical slots being provided in the sockets.
