1,138,059. Axle-box guides. SOC. APPLICAZIONI GOMMA ANTIVIBRANTI SAGA S.p.A. 16 Nov., 1966 [17 Nov., 1965], No. 51370/66. Heading B7L. [Also in Division F2] Railway vehicle suspension between a longitudinal member 10 and an axle-box 16 comprises a rubber spring 13 incorporating an intermediate metal disc 14 spaced by a distance 5 from the inner surface of a member 12 to control movement of the member 10 in the horizontal plane. In a modification, Fig. 5 (not shown), the member 12 extends to encircle the top of the axle box and two or more discs may be used with varying spacing from the member to progressively control movement of member 10 in the horizontal plane. In the embodiment of Fig. 2, horizontal movement is controlled by a pin 17 passing through a centre hole in the disc. In a modification, Fig. 3 (not shown), the pin extends through two or more holed discs. In Fig. 7 (not shown), three rubber springs arranged in parallel are interconnected by a single plate spaced around its edges from a box member to thereby control horizontal movement.
