Abstract
379,521. Pneumatic tyre pressure gauges. TURNER, W., 44, Eyre Lane, Sheffield. Sept. 7, 1931, No. 25116. [Class 106 (ii).] The gauge is connected to the deflating foot by an angularly adjustable connection. The deflating foot comprises an elbow A, B with connected bores A<1>, B<1> the limb A being adapted to fit over the stem of a tyre valve and being provided with a deflating projection C and seating washer D. The foot is rotatably mounted in a casing F integral with one end of the tube G leading to the gauge. The upper end of the limb B is provided with a cup leather H secured by a nut J and held against the inner surface of the casing by the bevelled edge of a spring-pressed sleeve K. The foot may be locked in one of several angular positions by a pin M projecting from the limb into a circumferential slot N formed on the casing and provided with a number of recesses into one of which the pin is forced by the spring L. The blot is normally covered by a screwed sleeve P through an opening in which the pin may be unscrewed.
