Abstract
376,994. Anµsthetic apparatus. BENTON& STONE, Ltd. and MILNER, C. E., Bracebridge Street, Birmingham. Aug. 27, 1931, No. 24096. [Class 81 (ii).] A plug cock for controlling the supply of air to an ether bottle has a body part provided with an air inlet, an air outlet which leads to a chloroform bottle, and an outlet for ether vapour mixed with air, and a plug in which passages are arranged so that when the air outlet is fully open the passages to and from the ether bottle are completely closed. Air enters by the inlet e, as shown in the Figure, and passes via the passages q, p in the plug h to a tube m which projects downwardly into the ether bottle d. A mixture of ether and air passes up the sleeve b and to the outlet g by a passage r. By turning the plug so that the inlet e and an outlet connection f leading to a chloroform bottle are placed in full communication by the passage n, the passages p, r to and from the bottle d are completely cut off. In an intermediate position of the plug, air passes through both passages n, q.
