Abstract
375,330. Stockings. HEMPHILL CO., Central Falls, Rhode Island, U.S.A.-(Assignees of Lawson, R. H. ; Pawtucket, Rhode Island, U.S.A.) March 20, 1931, No. 12735/32. Convention date, March 29, 1930. Divided on 375,379. [Class 141.] A split-work stocking or like article has a circular knitted leg part 2, a narrowed and widened heel 6, and a split-work foot the suture seams 9 of which are whol y or in part below the inner corners of the heel. The inner corners of the heel may terminate short of the suture seams " of the ankle. The instep may be knitted with tl.e same yarn as the leg portion, as described in Specification 375,379. When the position of the suture seam in the foot is changed, e.g. when changing from seam 9 to seam 10, the needles of the knitting-machine are actuated to knit into the stocking or like the float thread which would otherwise be caused. Specification 314,475, [Class 74 (ii), Knitting &c.], and U.S.A. Specification 1,673,764 also are referred to. Specification 282,385, [Class 141, Wearing- apparel], also is referred to in the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a).
