Abstract
373,128. Roller - way conveyers. DEMAG AKT.-GES., Duisburg, Germany. Feb. 10, 1931, No. 4195. Convention date, Feb. 11, 1930. [Class 78 (i).] In roller hot-beds, the inclined rollers are connected by universal joints, such as a Hooke's coupling 8, to driving shafts 2 provided with sprockets 3, the couplings and rollers being in the same plane, and the shafts being disposed at right-angles to the direction in which the rolled bars move. The sprockets 3 are driven by a chain 4 which passes over sprockets 5, 6, the latter being driven by a shaft 7. Instead of the chain, a rack may be employed to drive pinions mounted on the shafts 2.
