Abstract

372,637. Inkless printing by chemical reaction. KODAK, Ltd., Kingsway, London.-(Assignees of Hickman, K. C. D. and Staib, L. A.; Kodak Park, Rochester, New York, U.S.A.) Aug. 6, 1931, No. 22265. Convention date, Aug. 7, 1930. [Class 100 (ii).] The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) describes also materials sensitive to light, heat, electricity, or chemical stimulus comprising a sulphide-forming metallic salt and an organic compound capable of yielding sulphur. A layer sensitive to ammonia consists of lead acetate, thiobenzamide, and acetic acid. A heat-sensitive layer is formed from nickel acetate, thioacetamide and acetic acid. Line engravings may be made by rolling heat sensitive layers in contact with a heated printing block. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
