Abstract

218,619. Soellner Nachf. Reisszeugfabrik Akt.-Ges., J. B. July 4, 1923, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act]. Coating.-Metal articles made of electron metal are dipped into an alkaline solution, e.g. sodium hydrate heated to 110-120‹ C. with which is combined oxidizing compounds such as potassium nitrate, ferric hydrate. metal oxides, &c. After treatment the article is dried and polished and may be impregnated subsequently with hydrocarbons, oils &c. The coating may be coloured by adding alkali-proof colouring substances such as aniline dyes to the alkaline solution or by treating with alkali-proof solutions of dyes and metal oxides the oxide layer produced as above.
