Abstract

372,359. Cutting-out presses. BRITISH UNITED SHOE MACHINERY CO., Ltd., Union Works, Belgrave Road, Leicester.- (United Shoe Machinery Corporation; 140, Federal Street, Boston, U.S.A.) Feb. 6, 1931, No. 3762. [Class 31 (i).] In a clicking press, the operating shaft 18 is adjusted, relatively to the post 12 carrying the presser 14, by a screw 24 rotatable on the shaft 18. The screw is rotated by a hand-wheel 28 engaging a screwed end of the post. In order to lock the handwheel a rod 48 slidable on the post is pressed by a spring 56 into engagement wit'h holes in the hand-wheel. A fixed cam 46 withdraws the rod on manipulation of a lever 60. Specification 147,917, [Class 31 (i), Cutt.ng and severing machines &c.], is referred to.
