Abstract

371,234. Haymaking. GIBBS, H. H., West Street, Crewkerne, Somerset. July 15, 1931, No. 20312. [Class 6 (iii).] The tines 18 of a swath-turner or sidedelivery rake are fixed to an intermediate rake bar 3 that is attached to the connecting- bar 1 between the usual rotary reels by parallel motion links. Brackets terminating in collars 6, 7 are secured to the bar 1, the collars being arranged substantially at right-angles to the direction of motion of the machine. Links 10, 11 depend from the ends of bolts passing through the collars and fit over the ends of corresponding bolts passing through collars 14, 15 on brackets secured to the bar 3. A bracket 19 having a rearwardly extending part 20 is also secured to the rod 1. Links 22 connect a bolt 21 at the end of the extension to a bolt 23 at the end of a corresponding bracket 24 secured to the bar 3. Single tines or tines in sections may be secured by a set of links.
