Abstract
370,468. Heating fluids by electricity. I. G. FARBENINDUSTRIE AKT.-GES., Frankfort-on-Main, Germany. Dec. 1, 1930, No. 36152. Convention date, Nov. 29, 1929. [Class 39 (iii).] In a heater wherein the fluid passes in series through an iron tube A surrounded by a primary coil B, and a short-circuited tubular coil D forming a secondary coaxial with the primary coil, the tube A has an internal cross section m u c h greater than that of the pipes C2, C<1> con veying the fluid to anc from the tube. A dis placement block J may be inserted in the tube A. The tubes and coils are provided in triplicate. There is a common fluid inlet H and outlet F. In a modification the tubes A are of aluminium and are surrounded by iron sleeves. The secondary coils are much longer than the primary coils and iron sleeves.
