Abstract
368,261. Controllers. WEST & CO., Ltd., A., Lewes Road, and KING, A., 31, Hillside, Moulsecoomb, both in Brighton. Nov. 24, 1930, No. 35353. [Class 38 (iii).] With auxiliary switches. -A controller is provided with an auxiliary switch D, E which is closed during forward movement of the controller by a toothed wheel B engaging a lever C, this auxiliary switch being connected in circuit with the coil of a contactor. If the handle of the controller is released in an intermediate position, a spring and lost-motion device causes the wheel B to turn backwards sufficiently to open the switch D, E and hence the contactor controlled thereby. The device is used to prevent the starting resistance being burnt-out. In the " full-on " position the contacts D, E are short circuited by separate contacts on the controller drum.
