Abstract
365,729. Making corsets and like garments. ROWLAND, J. T. P. and LEETHEMS (TWILFIT), Ltd., 20, Cottage View, Portsmouth. Dec. 4, 1930, No. 36607. [Classes 112 and 141.] In the manufacture of garments such as corsets having elastic sections, these sections are provided adjacent the edge with a cord or the like to prevent the rubber strands " running." The cord 1 may be stitched to the elastic fabric by zig-zag stitching and may be provided on one side or on both sides. A fabric strip 5 may be also provided. The cord is attached at such a position as will leave a sufficient margin 9 for attachment to the adjacent section 3 of the garment. The section 3 may be of elastic or inelastic material and is attached by stitching 8, 8<1>, the seam thus formed being improved if desired by a strip 11 enclosing a stiffener 10.
