Abstract
365,183. Paper folding machines. TRIGGS, W. W., 57, Lincoln's Inn Fields, London. - (Wood Newspaper Machinery Corporation; 501, 5th Avenue, New York, U.S.A.) Oct. 18, 1930, No. 31315. [Class 100 (ii).] Folding rolls 20, 22 between which sheets are tucked by a blade on a rotating cylinder are provided with projections spaced at substantial intervals on the surface of the rolls adapted to forward the sheets by engaging or penetrating the margins thereof at isolated points. The projections or pins 21 may be fixed directly to the cylinders or to collars 22 having perforations fitting over rubber washers 25 on securing studs 24 fixed to the cylinder so that the collars can yield slightly to take sheets of different thicknesses. One or both of the cylinders 20, 22 may have a spring-actuated block 27 which grips and presses the sheet at its fold, and pins 28 are provided on the blocks to assist the feed. The folding blade is notched at positions corresponding to the positions of the pins 28.
