Abstract

363,743. Railway sleepers. BYRDE, E. A., Pensylva, Cecil Road, Weston-super- Mare. Oct. 7, 1930, No. 30019. [Class 104 (ii).] A sleeper comprises a metal trough 2 provided with upstanding lugs 4 which form extensions of its sides and may be punched up from the top 3 or riveted &c. to the sides. A block 6 of wood &c. is secured between the lugs by bolts 9. The screws 16 securing the rail chair to the block 6 are in alignment with the holes 5 in the top of the sleeper for the purpose of insulating the rail. A layer of rubber may be placed between the block and the sleeper. Specification 352,031 is referred to in the Provisional Specification.
