Abstract

362,721. Engine constructions; driving-gear. P A R K, G., Hazelwood House, White well, Belfast. Jan. 8, 1931, No. 664. [Class 7 (ii).] A number of cylinders 1 are arranged in a flywheel, spider &c., which rotates around an axis parallel with their axes. Pistons reciprocate within the cylinders and have piston-rods 9 on either side which engage stationary, complementary cams 4, 5. One of the faces 12 of the flywheel is provided with ports communicating with the opposite ends of the cylinder. The distribution of fluid is controlled by a spring-pressed disc valve 13 provided with ports connected alternately to a supply and exhaust. The engine may work as a two or four-stroke cycle engine.
