Abstract

358,581. Pulleys. WHITE, A. E., 5, Quality Court, Chancery Lane, London.- (Robins Conveying Belt Co. ; Meade Avenue, Passaic, New York, U.S.A.) July 11, 1930, No. 21037. [Class 80 (i).] Driving mechanism for an endless belt conveyer of the kind in which a jockey pulley mounted on a pivoted arm is acted on by springs to press the return run of the belt against the driving pulley has the jockey roller 15 mounted on a frame 17 pivoted on a shaft 19 in the main frame 13 and pressed against the belt 10 and driving pulley 11 by springs 25 provided with adjusting means 24. The surface of the jockey roller is slightly concaved and is fitted with rubber rings 26 with tapered sides and preferably reinforced bases. The bases are lubricated to permit relative rotation between the rings and the roller. A toothed scraping plate 29 is mounted on the frame 17 to clean the gaps between the rings.
