356,850. Photographic printing. JOYCE, G. J. R., Royal Aircraft Establishment, South Farnborough, Hampshire. June 28, 1930, No. 19737. [Class 98 (ii).] A negative for use in picture transmission by telegraphy, photographic copying, &c., is produced by placing a sheet of carbon duplicating paper, overlaid, if desired, with a sheet of ordinary thin paper, upon a sheet of absorbent material such as blotting paper, and pressing the two together as with a stylus or in a typewriter to transfer carbon to the blotting paper in the form of a design or text and leave the carbon paper in the form of a negative of the design or text. Alternatively, the carbon paper may be placed beneath the blotting paper, and the pressure exerted on the latter. The carbon paper negative may be mounted on glass, celluloid, &c., and may be varnished. It may be enclosed between glass plates for use as a lantern slide. Instead of carbon paper, a celluloid &c. support similarly coated may be used.
