Abstract
356,306. Spray carburetters. DODDS, E. M., Broomfield, Swiss Avenue, Watford, Hertfordshire. June 11, 1930, No. 17880. [Class 7 (iii).] The flow of fuel from a nozzle 5 is controlled by air from a pipe 10 arranged to shroud the nozzle ; the pipe 10 is adjustable in height and has an adjustable plug valve 12. An adjustable byepass 21 conveys mixture to a point adjacent the main throttle valve at starting. In modifications, (a) the valve 12 is barometrically controlled, (b) the byepass 21 is replaced by an additional nozzle 5 and enshrouding air pipe 10, and (c) the nozzle 5 is located adjacent the main throttle valve 2, Fig. 11, which carries an adjustable pipe 26 to supply the slow-running mixture.
