Abstract
In the processes of dyeing with indigoid vat dyes, acid dyestuffs of the triphenylmethane, oxazine, thiazine, and azine classes, sulphur dyes, and mordant dyes, the dyes or mixtures thereof are vatted with sodium hydrosulphite and ammonia, or ammonium carbonate, without the addition of salts of higher fatty acids, and the vat is employed direct for dyeing animal fibres. Indigo, its derivatives including carboxylic and sulphonic acids, sulphur Black T extra, Hydrone blue R and G, alizarine, and gallocyanine are specified and the vat may be prepared in presence of the substratum to be dyed.
