Abstract
355,619. Dental polishing brushes. PRIEST, H. R., Loudonville, Ohio, U.S.A. Dec. 13, 1930, No. 37646. [Class 19.] A power-driven dental polishing brush comprises a single, closely packed, tuft 13 of stiff bristles embedded in a hard rubber base 14 fitted within a socket 11, preferably formed of hard rubber, formed integral with a shank 10 adapted to be held in the chuck or band-piece of a dental engine. The base 14 is a driving fit in the socket 11 and may be secured by a pin 15. The shank 10 may be reinforced by an embedded metal rod 12. Fig. 4 shows a brush wherein the bristle component is substantially conical. The brushes are so constructed that when used with considerable pressure the bristles resist distortion.
